For our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to do something special and spent a couple of days at Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, WA. It is - quite literally - right at the edge of Snoqualmie Falls and the view from our window was spectacular. We had Deb's sister come watch Caitlin and then headed out to enjoy each other's company for a couple of days. It was very relaxing and very romantic. It was also incredibly expensive. Not that it wasn't worth it, but man did this little excursion consume cash in a hurry. Kudos to the folks that run Salish lodge for a fine experience and an excellent dinner - I just need to either get a serious pay increase or hit the lottery before I can afford to do this any more than once a decade. :-)
The room was nice and cozy, the fireplace was warm, and the whirlpool bath was built for two - the perfect place for an anniversary get-away! The pictures came out very orange for reasons unknown to me (the small picture the camera showed me seemed fine at the time...) but you can still make out the details. The opening window from the tub-for-two to the rest of the room was nice. Light a fire in the fireplace, set the whirlpool tub running, and relax for a while. Snoqualmie Falls was right outside our window. We even shot some video of the falls. |
